SUMMER CLASSES - Week 3 (July 26 - 30)

BODY CHECKING CLASS  (7:00 - 8:00 AM)

PEE WEE (1998 & 1999) - Limit six players per class

In this class Squirt players moving up to Pee Wee are introduced to the skills of delivering and receiving a body check and players who have played one year of Pee Wee will have an opportunity to brush up on their body checking skills.  The goal of the class is to develop body checking/receiving skills and contact confidence.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT CLASSES Limit six players per class

Program objective is to improve forward & backward skating, turning, stopping, forward and backward cross-overs, edges, balance, puck handling, forehand & backhand passing and shooting skills.

3 v 3 SMALL AREA GAME PROGRAM (1:00 - 2:00 PM)

SQUIRTS (2000 & 2001) - Limit 12 players per class

Benefits of Playing Small Area Games

• Small area games create a fun, competitive learning environment
• Players learn to make quick decisions and to improvise, building confidence and improving hockey sense
• Participants develop skills while playing:

Players - More puck touches, more passing & shooting opportunities, more chances to score

Goalies - More opportunities to make a save in game situations.  They will face more shots in 15 minutes of small area games than they will in an entire full ice game.

• Stimulates offensive and defensive play       
• Fosters a love and enjoyment of the game because it is FUN!!!
