TRYOUT READINESS CLASS

This clinic is designed to prepare players for tryouts.  The clinic will focus on skating, passing, puck handling, passing and shooting skills.  In addition to being a skill refresher players will have an opportunity to improve their level of competitiveness and decision making skills through 1-on-1, 2-on-1 and small area game drills.

Squirts (2003 & 2002), Pee Wee (2001 & 2000), Girls U-12 & U-14

Tuesday, March 6, 13, 20 (7:30 - 8:30 PM)

Tuition: $60 per class/$165 per session

Mites (2004, 2005, 2006), Girls U-10

Thursday, March 8, 15, 22 (5:00 - 5:50 PM)

Tuition: $55 per class/$150 per session

Classes are limited to 12 skaters per class

FACE-OFF SKILLS (Limited to 6 players per class)

Mite Travel (2003), Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam, Girls U12, U14, U16

Does your child's team practice face-off skills in practice?  This very important skill is often overlooked in practice and if this is the case on your child's team you should consider this program.

Winning a face-off is a one-one-one battle that allows your team to gain possession of the puck.  The more face-offs a player wins, the more valuable they are to their team because the team that possesses the puck the most generally has a good chance of creating more scoring chances and limiting the opponents opportunities.  There is more to taking a face-off than putting your stick down on the ice and waiting for the official to drop the puck.  This clinic will provide instruction on face-off techniques and strategies to help your child rule the dot and become a valuable asset to your team.

The program objective is to improve stick handling skills, puck control, puck protection and deking skills.

Program objective is to improve shooting technique, accuracy and velocity. Classes will cover age appropriate shots. Wrist shot, backhand, snap shot, slap shot.
